Frustratingly, the world was a more dangerous place for our cameras than our lab, so we began to build a modular test enclosure that would allow us to evaluate new sensor packages and other components from within the safety of a fortress of protection.

Design Requirements:

• Create a modular enclosure capable of holding a range of sensor packages and FPGAs

• Isolate the sensors from significant heat sources and pipe the heat outside

• Isolate the camera assembly from shocks and vibration

• Add tunable RF shielding for use in industrial environments

• Make all external fasteners potential mounting points
